On FINEEC’s blog, Mira Huusko, a Senior Advisor at FINEEC, deals with issues of research-based education in higher education institutions.
Huusko states that in Finland the Universities Act clearly defines the existence of research-based teaching, and thus it is seldom questioned. Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) is also a part of the activities of universities of applied sciences. The article highlights Berit Hyllseth’s definition of the areas of research-based education. Huusko conducted a mini project and examined audit reports to find out whether the different aspects described by Hyllseth are also realised in the Finnish higher education system. Read more
