Release Higher education

The engineering degree programme in International Logisctis at JAMK University of Applied Sciences was re-awarded the European EUR-ACE label following an accreditation by the Finnish Education Evaluation Centre (FINEEC). The accreditation and the associated EUR-ACE Label are valid for six years, until 27 April 2026.

Teaching and working-life relevance of the studies are strengths of the degree programme

The strengths of the degree programme identified by the accreditation team are the high-quality teaching and the programme learning outcomes, that are well in-line with the industry demands. In addition, the learning environments and support services provided for the students are of high quality and accessible, as well as designed in a student-centred manner. The degree programme staff is committed to developing the degree programme and to supporting students through their learning paths.

One of the identified areas for further development is strengthening the inclusion of the students in developing the degree programme curriculum. Furthermore, the accreditation team recommends to publish the changes in the degree programme structure before the application period for the updated programme. There is some area for the development also in the course descriptions: for instance, the teaching methods should be specified for each individual course.

The engineering programme accreditation is a degree programme specific evaluation leading to the European EUR-ACE Label. The accreditation aims to support the development of quality in engineering degree programmes and increase international comparability and recognition of Finnish engineering degrees in the European industry. The engineering programme accreditations are voluntary for higher education institutions in Finland.
