Evaluation of education in the maritime sector 2020–2022

The Finnish Education Evaluation Centre (FINEEC), in cooperation with the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency (Traficom) conducted an evaluation of education in the maritime sector in 2020 – 2022. According to the STCW Convention, an evaluation is carried out every five years. The objective of the evaluation was to ensure that the Finnish organisations offering education in the maritime sector have functional quality management systems and procedures to provide education that fulfils the quality criteria of the STCW Convention and that the education unit fulfils the requirements of the STCW Convention.

The evaluation of education in the maritime sector was based on a self-assessment conducted by the Finnish organisations offering education in the maritime sector, background material and an evaluation visit by an evaluation team.
