Evaluation of learning and competencies in basic education and general upper secondary education

The evaluation project focuses on the fulfilment of legislation, regulations and norms as a means of steering teaching and learning; on the evaluation culture and the evaluation practices in which such a culture is reflected; and on the evaluation skills of teachers and learners and the development of such skills. Good evaluation practices will be gathered, e.g., in the form of case studies, during the project.

The aim of the project is to highlight well-functioning practices within the evaluation culture, to identify development challenges, and to generate information for the development of the evaluation culture and evaluation skills.

The project was implemented during 2017-2018. In June 2017, background information on the implementation of evaluation was collected from all education providers and the actual evaluation material was collected from selected schools in January-February 2018.
